Who We Are
"At the end of life we will not be judged by how many diplomas we have received, how much money we have made, how many great things we have done. We will be judged by 'I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat, I was naked and you clothed me. I was homeless, and you took me in."
Mother Teresa
In 1963, the Society opened the first St. Vincent de Paul Store/Distribution Center to assist the poor of our community. We now have stores located in Baton Rouge, Gonzales and Hammond. Our stores provide much more than a place where customers can purchase items at extremely low prices. Through our St. Vincent de Paul Conferences, we also provide clothing, bedding, appliances, furniture, and household items free of charge to those in need.
What We Do
Volunteers are needed to sort and organize donated clothing and other household items.
